Dr Bhavya(Abby) Adalja | Clinical Director and Physiotherapist
Welcome to Our Clinic!
I’m Abby, the Clinical Director, and I’m thrilled to have you here. At our clinic, your health and well-being are not just priorities—they're our passion.
A little about me: I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy back in 2007 and then pursued a Master’s in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy. My journey began in intensive care, where I spent two transformative years helping patients at their most vulnerable. In 2012, I took the leap and moved to Australia, eager to expand my horizons.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of healthcare settings, from primary care to community rehabilitation and occupational therapy. Each experience has enriched my understanding and approach to patient care. Recently, I completed my PhD at The University of Queensland, focusing on optimizing healthcare for work-related injuries and those from road traffic accidents. This research fuels my commitment to delivering the best possible care to every patient.
I believe in creating a healthcare experience that is truly patient-centered—accessible and affordable for everyone. I know this is a challenging goal, but I’m dedicated to finding solutions that ensure you receive the high-quality care you deserve, without the stress of financial burdens. Change starts with us, and I’m ready to take those steps with you.
When I’m not in the clinic, you can find me immersed in painting or enjoying precious moments with my family—my husband, our beloved fur child, and our wonderful daughter. These moments of creativity and connection keep me grounded and inspire me to bring compassion and energy to my work.
I can’t wait to work with you on your journey to better health. Together, we’ll make strides toward your rehabilitation goals!

As part of the clinic management team, I genuinely love being a friendly face (or voice) that greets everyone who walks through our doors. It’s so fulfilling to know that I play a role in ensuring our patients receive kind and caring service. Carolyn Taylor | Practice support
Hello! I’m excited to share a bit about my journey at Bribie Island Physiotherapy, where I’ve been working since June. With a solid background in customer service, honed over years in the Aged Care and Banking sectors, I’ve found my passion in this role, connecting with our wonderful community.
Having called Bribie Island home for the past decade—after moving from the stunning landscapes of New Zealand with my partner—I truly cherish the vibrant atmosphere here. The best part of my job? The incredible people! Whether it's my supportive colleagues or our fantastic clients, every day brings new connections that brighten my experience.
I thrive on face-to-face interactions; it’s so rewarding to help people in person rather than just being a voice on the phone. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone who walks through our doors deserves a chance to enhance their mobility and well-being, all while being greeted by our warm and welcoming team.
When I’m not at work, you can find me enjoying quality time with family and friends—whether we’re dining out, catching a movie, or cheering on the All Blacks and Crusaders rugby teams. I also have a passion for exploring new places and dreaming about future travels to far-off destinations.
I look forward to continuing this incredible journey and making a positive impact in our community!
